This is not where you air complaints first, try the management if the room smelled or water pressure was inadequate. In reading other reviewers comments, I suggest giving it another try, because something right is happening there. We found the service at the front desk impeccable, valet and bell service good, but most of all the restaurant wait and bus staff, cooks, and management (in evidence), were all indicators of a fine tuned machine.

Breakfast buffet with made to order omelets, cheese blintzes, fresh carmel pecan rolls, and everything else imaginable was well done, clean, and all palatable and tasty. Scallion mashed potatoes were to die for. Steaks, bone in ribeye and porterhouse, done perfectly and presented beautifully with flowers and fresh al dente vegetables. The food is tantamount to 5 star, Walleye Almondine done to perfection with superbly browned butter sauce. Stayed an addditional night in order to eat in the steak house again. We will defibitely be staying again Good proximity to duluth for a reasonably pricedhotel with lots to do and cheap but good food all right there for you!Ĭannot say enough about the lodging in the new tower, comfortable, beautiful glass tile, competent cleaning, and friendly staff. We also tried the steakhouse which was wonderful. Really just a smile every now and then or at the very least the majority of them could lose the snotty attitude.

Almost all of the staff could use a lesson in customer service, and I am not one to complain about customer service AT ALL. The deli was extremely convenient for late night munching. The buffets were very good, especially the seafood dinner!! But as other reviewers have noted, I did see some left overs at lunch which really wasn't a big deal to us. I would definitely suggest the tower rooms, however, as they are worth the extra 10-20$!! The casino was fun! We really enjoyed ourselves, and ended up breaking even between our wins and loses by the end of our stay. We took a walk to the 'old' part of the casino and it was loud (all rooms face the pool, although my parents stayed here a few weeks before us and said that it was not bad. I absolutely loved our room, which was on the top floor of the tower. My boyfriend and I recently returned from a three night stay at black bear casino.
